During the internship at Studio Suppanen, together with the team, we have been asked to design benches for the upcoming Länsimetro station in Espoo, Finland. The guidelines where to implement basic materials commonly used in the architectural field such as wood, concret and aluminium. We developed three concepts according to these three materials. In the first picture wooden benches with organic and soft shape are showned in contrapposition to cylindrical aluminium trash bin. The style follows the nordic minimal criterion. The wooden layers of the benches create a soft movement, inviting people to approach the furnitures and take a seat. In the second picture thin aluminium sheets become double sided benches.
